I'm looking for a charging circuit for the 18650 cells. Of the two below, which is better? Does anyone have experience with the cheaper of the two? Are there other options i should look at?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Enduring-5...714012?hash=item43f46ed8dc:g:F8MAAOSw7ThUjqAO (cheaper)

Oh...i missed that the cheaper version doesn't have discharge built in. Not sure if i like that or not. But now it makes sense why there are different amount of chips on board.

I have used the cheaper ones a lot, and they work well. There is a thread on here about the more expensive version (that has "protection" built in) which doesn't speak highly of them (if I remember correctly). Neither of them do discharging, they are for charging only.

If you are interested in the smaller ones (the basic TP4056), I have 60 of them sitting on my desk, and I'd be happy to sell some for less than the ebay price. I just overbought for a build I'm doing. They are completely new and unused. I'm in Canada, and can/will easily send them anywhere.

On Aliexpress, you can get 20 pieces of the cheaper one for 6 USD (approx.), this is 30cUS$ each

I have used both. You only need the cheap ones. Make sure they work correctly before soldering everything together. I have 2 with blown led. Still works but the red charge led is blown on them.

The other ones are good for projects that do some kind of discharging.

Thanks for the info. While the second doesn't do discharging directly, it does offer the direct battery connections so you can add a dis-charge circuit. Let me figure out which would be best for the charger bank i'm going to build. I may reach out for those cheap ones if i can find a way to use them in the plans.

Thanks.
