Are these PIP only single phase?

Do you mean single phase as in 120V, or 240V? As that term is kinda mis-used. Technically, house mains is dual phase. Each Line is 180 degrees from the other. That's why you can't just connect them together in parallel.
Or are you looking for a 3-phase setup where you'll be able to use 330-360V?

As in "not split-phase" which is what we use in the US. Apperently not, only single phase and for USA/Canada only 110V/120V models (2424LV-MSD) which is 24V system (although stackable up to 6 units).
I would need 4 of these which brings the price point closer to $2k with shipping.

Pip is single phase yes. Thats the most common standard if you do not count with US Smile

We have 3phase in with neutral. And then all single phase equipment use 1 phase + neutral only. No split phase here since that would have been 400V Smile

Does the PIP work as just a pass-throught from AC in to AC out, if for example the Batrium triggered the Shunt trip and battery is turned off completely, meaning that PIP doesn't not get any voltage on DC in?

I tried to connect just AC in to the PIP (since my 14s packs are still not ready), and it doesn't turn on.
Does this mean it will not work at all if there is no battery connected?

Because this is a scenario I want to prevent: Batrium for some reason triggers critical state which turns off shunt trip, and battery is off, but if I don't have any kind of ATS for using grid AC when AC out from inverter is off (was thinking on relying just on the PIP) than this might be a big problem, because I don't want to stay without AC to the house (fridge mainly) if for some reason Batrium triggers the shunt.

The pip wont work without battery at all. Thats how off grid works.

If you are afraid of the batrium tripping and you want power you need to insert an ATS. If you are afraid of that your batteries will fail a ats is a must unless you get a hybrid inverter instead. The hybrid versions will work without battery
