Hi

I'm new just saying hi, I call a few battery recyclers who want $5 per kilogram for used laptop batteries is that expensive?

Welcome!

$5 per kilo would be 28Cent per cell. I would consider that "Ok" price as long as you can pick and choose packs. Because that can be a hefty price if you only have like 40-50% sucess rate of the cells.
 
If you're an Aussie that is too much to pay! Other places in the world i can't speak for.
