Perhaps its where it was manufactured? I have lots of different LG cells, and have several others that are like this with the 3rd letter. It's always an E, A, or D, and the 4th letter is always an A or B.

I've disassembled 4 packs so far, going forward I'm going to charge the packs whole, I've got a few 42V2A ebike chargers that I can put an xt60 on, should speed up the process and I can somewhat test the BMS, wanna sell em off later

On a side note pretty much all the cells will need to get rewrapped if you disassemble the packs, all the ones I have are superglued

I bought 2000 of the cells from them.  I've been pre-charging the packs, then breaking them down and then testing them on the Opus and 4S chargers. ( Tested at .5a ) I'm over half way done and have been really happy so far. All the batteries are marked LGEAMF11865 and the majority of them are between 2100 and 2250mah.  I have a couple hundred between 2000 and 2100mah.  With less then 10 below 2000mah.   No complaints on capacity. 


 
I was lucky that almost all of them were the easier side mount BMS.  I have figured a way to do the center boards pretty fast and safe.

 
You strip the packs of shrink and protectors.

Cut off all exposed wires.

Next on the top 4 cells, cut the negative tabs off the board and then the positive tabs and remove batteries.

Grab the assembly and snap the board in half.


Cut all negative tabs on both sides of batteries on each side of boards.


Cut all positive tabs next making sure cutter is hitting insulating ring around top of the battery.

 
You can now pull the batteries apart to get the clearance to safely cut apart the pack.
 
No arcs or sparks.

I just gave up and dropped the pictures here.  It kept telling me my word count was too high with the pictures included.  The computer wins.  LOL

I hope you can help me out with an issue.   I have to slow down for awhile because of a back injury and going into congestive heart failure with some kidney failure thrown in just for the fun of it.  So I'm a little spacey with the drugs the last few weeks....  besides being blond. Rolleyes    They are working on figuring what's going on.

In the mean time, I have all my cells at the full charge that the Opus and the 4s puts them at after a capacity test.  I'm wondering if keeping them at that voltage for a couple of months will do them harm?  I have found from doing the voltage checks after letting them sit for a couple weeks already, are mostly around 4.1vdc.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

It's fine to let them sit fully charged for several months, I've had all my cells sitting like that for a while now.
Also I wouldn't destroy those BMSs so quickly, they're rated for 12A cont and if you have a bunch you could sell them on eBay for at least $10 and recoup a good chunk of the battery cost

Thank you for the input Scepterr. Makes me feel better.

Inverted 18650, I don't know if I trust the center BMS boards. I only had about 6 packs that wouldn't take the 42volt pre-charge, all of them were the center BMS boards.

The batteries from the packs did come up with some good capacities though and none were resting below 3.4vdc.
If you want a couple 36v side BMS boards, they are yours. Just cover the shipping. Wink

I want to test them and run some experiments. I am an EE and just want to see why that don't work and if I can find a fix. Of course if I do fix the issue and can fix it, I'll make that info public so everyone else can repair and use them too
