Hi, I'm planning an RV solar powerwall system.

48v 13s 18650, I want to run one or two 48vdc mini split air conditioning units straight off the powerwall and have a small inverter for the odd AC appliance I need to run.

I'm also considering an electric bike or scooter with a 13s pack so I have a transportation option between moving the RV and walking.

I'm on a budget and I want to spend far less than the $10-15,000 estimates for a top of the line RV solar system. My target is $2,500 total with 1kw of panels andI might increase the battery capacity over time if usage requires. The AC is a separate budget.

Sounds like a plan. Your estimated target money should be fine.

I would though go with 14s if possible but it depends on the equipment you are going to hook on to it.

I guess I need to look at the AC and inverter before I choose 13s or 14s.

If 12v really means 13.5v, then 48v might mean 54v which would be better with 14s.

I will keep this in mind.

Thanks.

How long do you want to be able to run the ac?

1kw of panels is lots on a rv till you turn the ac on then its not much.

For a battery bank your going to need around 20kw, at 48v that's 400 ah
I would look at 14s200p which is 2800 cells

Still have a generator in your motorhome ?

The AC systems I have been looking at draw about 800 watts each but they shouldn't run continuously and I intend to do a bit of northern migration during summer to reduce the load.

I will also insulate as well as I can.

I'm planning dual zones with bedroom only at night. My thermostats will probably be set pretty high.

I was planning to start around 5kw for the battery with a plan to go to 10kw or so as funds allow.

I figure a small array would hurt more than a small battery and small battery is easier to fix. If I can drain 10kw, there is no way my solar array is keeping up...
