It is nice to see all the experimentation, great ideas and respectful conversation being posted on this forum.
I am interested to know how long the second hand batteries are going to last and whether they fail due to high internal resistance or drop in capacity. My guess is a lifespan of around 2-5 years. Also interested to find out if LFP (LiFePO4) batteries are going to last longer than other lithium ion variants.
When I have to replace the LiPo batteries on my electric pushbikes I will definitely look at a DIY pack using 18650 cells or something similar.
