I plan to build a 10kwh battery pack

Alreadyhave a solar system (24v)
  • 6pcs of 250W Solar panels (1.5kw total)
  • 2pcs of 200AH SLA Battery (4.8kwh, which is nearly dead and only has 25% of its capacity left)
  • 1kw inveter
I will be building the 18650 packs in sets of 1kwh [20p7s].One (1)of them is already completed, Nine (9) more to go.

1kwh pack can currentlyrun my house for for 5hrs@MaxV: 4.0,MinV:3.2. Even though it will stay for 8hours @MaxV: 4.2, MinV: 3.0, I am not willing to do that because I wantthem to last longer.

By the time I get to 10kwh I should have 2 day's worth of storage.

Still waiting for Nigeria to be added to the coutry list so I can start uilding my project.

Welcome!
Sounds like a good plan.
Keep us posted

Sounds like my first setup & welcome!

I'll shoot a message to mike to add that for you, could take a few days depending on workload.

Welcome!
I work with a college that come from Nigeria. He is working on importing Solar stuff to there.

Note that your panels are rated at kW not kWh :) kWh is the unit for energy over time.

Wow! that's great. More Nigerians are installing solar systems in their homes.

Thanks for the correction.

Thanks Pete. Especially for inspiring us &creating this platform to enable us tell our 18650 stories.

Nigeria has been added to the list. I have added 280 cells to the cell count. It would be 420 cells soon cos I am currently building the third Kwh pack.

Hi,
i am Gbenga from Nigeria, i studied electrical/electronics and am a hard core DIY, I joined this forum to learn more about building my own powerwall.
