Ebike Charger Hack
#1
Hey guys,
I need your advice on hacking my charger.

I have already cut off the plug as I was going to use a xt60 connecter to charge the batteries I make, however I decided to go with the original connecter the charger came with.  Rolleyes

So now I have a break in the lead with xt60 connector joining original plug back on ( see photos below you will see what I mean).

This got me thinking it would be nice to have a high voltage disconnect of some kind, to prevent batteries charging to 100%, thus hopefully prolonging battery life.

So, what could i use do you think that I  could wire into the lead. I could add a wattmeter but I dont have one tthat disconnects.

Any ideas appreciated??

Yep I could use one of those, I  was looking for something enclosed, I  could make a little case for it.

Any other options?? I'll keep looking if not one of those modules will do the job I'm sure

I use three server power supplies in series to give my 36v. Then I hook up one of these cheap DC-DC boost converters from aliexpress to charge up the pack that way.

My battery pack is 12S8P and it is made of samsung 82A cells rated for a max CDR of 5.6A.
