Crap batteries are crap....

As I discussed in a previous thread.. I purchased a cheap brick of crap batteries. $10 for 50 Garberiel 6000 mAh 18650's. I now know they are junk and are only good for playing with while I learn and collect real 18650's. Lesson learned.

I have some on my BT-C3100 right now to test the actual capacity (I'm going to guess sub 1000 mAh, I'll report back..) but they wont even charge at a full 1A?!

I have a "real" 18650 that I measured at ~2700mAh using the BT-c3100 and it charges/dischargesat 1000mA just fine. But the Garberiel's wont charge past 650mA.

Each battery seems to randomly stop between 600mA and 650mA when charging and wont go up to the full 1000mA. Why is that? What would cause that? I mean are these batteries even worse than Ithought? Or is this something they have intentionally done?

Just wondering.. Thanks

Thats because they have high resistance and hit top voltage/bottom voltage directly. You said it your self. They are crap and fake. Dont expect them to work at all.

Discharged out to 1125mAh. Honestly, that's a lot more than I expected.

They are all from 50 to 1500 in my world :) Mostly around 500

Yeah I bet they all discharge differently.

I'm going to cut one apart to see whats inside..

Do that and you will see that depending on type. (The light ones atleast) only have 1/3rd of the content

Geez.. There needs to be regulations.. haha. It's sad that they can get away with selling people garbage and putting crap like "6000mAh" on the label when that's not even remotely possible.

Be careful due to potential fire hazard. You will find either a 18650 shell that is only filled 1/3 or 1/2 or a smaller cell inside the 18650 shell that is connected to the 18650s positive and negative terminal. The first type might potentially react a bit grumpy when opening it, the second is completely save obviously.

And to be helpful to others, if these were purchased on eBay, report the bastards for selling fake stuff. I'm sure other purchase sites have similar set ups. You should be able to get your money back if using eBay or Banggood.

There is. A US-based company would never get away with that. The problem is most, if not all, of these guys are in China. Even if you're buying from a US seller, it's probably just a drop shipper for a Chinese company.

Same here in Germany. And I bet that there are even many sellers that aren't aware of the problems with these cells. They are just clueless. And worse, many customers don't realise that these are fake cells and that they have been scammed.
