Cell DataBase Datasheet
#1
I think would be good to download and store datasheets of cells somewhere and link to that location instead of where it is now,  so if anytime the source is down or in a future the is unavailable we can get a copy.

Yeah, I think the forum version is just an import of the spreadsheet version. I don't have the link to the spreadsheet, though. I'm sure Mike will post it when he gets on.

Yes, great work too, but the spreadsheets link too to external sources (houseofbatteries.com, nkon.nl, etc) what if these sites are down? I mean to download all the datasheet, store at diypowerwalls.com and update the database, so datasheets will be always available for diy community not depending on third parties.

And when Google indexes and people search for the word datasheet and a model of cell with filetype:pdf parameter diypowerwalls.com will appear in the top positions of the searches and will attract more traffic here.

Legalities of hosting such data is questionable in my opinion who really owns it? That's my thinking anyway, so for now this is how it will be Smile

However, there can be links to those datasheets. I don't see how all those sites would be down as the datasheets can be found in multiple locations and Google has a cached backup of them as well (which is kinda creepy, what else do they have a backup of....)
