Great work, thats the stuff we need.... more safety.
Btw scared the cr*p out of me when my breaker tripped here the first time unexpected.. it makes a realy loud "klak" when it go's Tongue

Yeah that breaker have scared the heck out of me several times when testing Big Grin Its so f***ng loud Big Grin

I have a thing to think about... Wink

I have used the "battery ok" signal to activate the shunt trip, this means i had to install a extra relay to "convert" the nc contact of the batrium to a no contact for the shunt... ( on the previus software version there was no pulse or other way to do this )
So i was glad after the latest update, to be able to simplefy  this to the setup as you demonstrated in the video.

Now i have some doubt....

There is one benefit with my old setup, the extra relay is always activated, i do not like this, but it means when there is a problem with the power supply of the batrium system, the shunt trip trips and disconnect the battery... that is a plus i believe..... if connected direct to the relay, the shunt-trip never gets activated if there is a power failure on the batrium side.

Like to have your opinion on this.

You are correct in that sense and I asked for the no contact as well. I want the same. Ie make sure that I cannot enable the breaker unless batrium is running...

You want to remove as many issues as possible like if possible remove the relay and use mosfet instead. Relay are often more likely to fail than a mosfet as I understand it. Not sure if its 100% true. But if so there is some mosfet outputs on the Batrium.

I will be driving the ABB breaker by 48v directly btw. Most likely with a power resistor in series to limit the voltage a bit (.....) It should work and its just a pulse so.

I also have the job of getting 1 breaker to be controller by 2 different Batrium systems Smile Luckily the first batrium can take input signals and base the switch on that. (I hope atleast.....)

Daromer,

I have some noob questions about the shunt trips.

Is the one that come from Batrium also disconnect the power?   If it does, why not use that one?

The next question, it looks like each of the legs are independent, so if you have the 100A model, you could come into do a set up like this and control 300A correct?

If the Batrium Shunt is only a monitor, where would you put it?   Between BUS 2 and Each Battery? If thats the case  would you would need 2 one for each battery?

Shunt trip is a sensor that wil trip based on shunt current in general. A shunt is only a device that meassures current. (I hope i got the terminology right)

The shunt should be close to the battery on the negative side. Before you power the watchmon. The big-ass breaker should be after and to be there to be able to disconnect the inverters and chargers.

If a 100A breaker would be able to work as 300 by paralelelling the 3 im not sure. You can though use it for several banks yes. Best practice in that scenario that i leave to the manufacturer to answer but in theory you could use the breaker on 100A to break 100A per phase = 300A total.
