Bat-Safe Lithium Charging Box - Sanyos?

This would be great to use for Sayno testing! I'd be curious to get my hands on one and see how well it stands up to a lithium fire.

I have seen this in several other RC groups. Some people actually had failure and yes it did kind of work.
But the price.. Though for safety the price is nothing.

You could probably re-purpose an ammo box. They are made of pretty tough steel and can withstand a lot of abuse, Probably could withstand the abuse of failed cell(s) without much of an issue. And, they come in various sizes.

Yeah many people around my area do use ammo-boxes that they just created a filter on top and use it for charging LiPo batteries.

And they are a lot cheaper!!

Especially if you have a Harbor Freight around the corner.

It's this sort of ridiculous scaremongering that encourages niny politicians to bring in unnecessary regulations (no doubt with under the table financial encouragement from the oil industry) ... the oil industry is desperate to halt the widespread use of electric vehicles...And the public has been trained to be scared of their own shadow ... freak out at the slightest hint of danger ...

Can you imagine if the petrol engine was invented today , and it was proposed to have vehicles with scores of liters of highly flammable petrol speeding about the roads ... and people thought about keeping these petrol full vehicles in garages near their houses!! The politicians would outlaw it ... and the cowardly people of today would go along with the ban!

Even mighty Boeing with all their engineering resources couldn't get lithium right the first time. The media freakout was limited because Boeing is part of the establishment and as such cannot of course be fully responsible for anything.

Let some poor schmuck of a DIY type burn down their house with a homebrew powerwall and the media will go into Geraldo-at-Al-Capone's-vault mode...
